OPEN CALL | FAIR | Residency | Copenhagen | 2023

Open Call: Residency for professional visual artists residing in the Nordic and Baltic countries.

Applications are closed // DEADLINE: 2. OCTOBER 2022
Applications for a residency in 2023 will be accepted until 2 October 2022 23:59h (CEST).

FAIR is a research residency program at Fonden FABRIKKEN for Kunst & Design (FABRIKKEN) for professional visual artists residing in the Nordic and Baltic countries. FAIR welcomes early career artists, who wish to further and challenge their practice in a generous environment of early to mid-career artists.

The FAIR residency program welcomes 3 artists a year for a duration of 3 months each. The FAIR resident receives a total stipend/grant of DKK 37.500 (approx. 5.040 EUR) to cover living expenses etc., paid return travel up to 2.500 DKK (approx. 335 EUR), shared accommodation in Copenhagen, and a private studio at FABRIKKEN. We encourage sustainable travel and are happy to advise.

The program responds to the individual artistic practice of the resident. Online meetings between the program manager and the artist will be conducted in preparation for the residency.

Applicants are asked to submit a proposal for an artistic research project. The project should contribute to developing new knowledge and insight into the field in question. The project should be new or recently initiated and of a high standard. The resident will receive active mentoring and support during the residency.

FAIR connects the resident with Danish artists and other art professionals through meetings, openings, and other professional and social events. During the residency, a public event is organized in collaboration with the program manager.

Applicants are encouraged to motivate their decision to apply for a residency in a Danish art context.
