FAIR

FAIR is a new residency program, at The Factory for Art & Design, for artists in the Nordic and Baltic regions. The purpose of FAIR is to give an international artist the opportunity to realize a project here at The Factory.
An event or exhibition is organized during the residence, in collaboration with the curator of the program. In the course of a year, 4 artists are invited here for a duration of 2 months each. The FAIR artist receives two monthly grants of 5000 DKK (approx. 670 euro) plus travel expenses to and from the home country, accommodation, a studio at The Factory and the loan of a bike.

The members of the FAIR committee, which evaluates submitted applications, are at present:

Mathias Danbolt, art historian
Stine Hebert, art historian
Mette Høyen, artist
Henrik Menné, artist

FAIR is very kindly supported by Nordic Culture Point.

Application procedure

Deadline:
The program is fully booked for 2010. The next deadline will be announced when available.

Criteria for applicant:
To be eligible for a residency, the applicant must be a professional working artist. Also, the artist must either originate from one of the Nordic or Baltic countries*, or be engaged in his/her primary artistic practice in one of these countries (* Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Åland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia).

The duration of the residency includes the realization of an exhibition project, performance, workshop or similar event, organized in collaboration with the curator of the program. The artist is also required to give an informal public talk at the Factory of Art and Design, relatively early in the residence period, to provide a presentation of his/her artistic practice.
