FIRST FRIDAYS: ARTIST TALK MED KATARINA SEVIC

Sammen med andre udstillingssteder på Amager lancerer FABRIKKEN nu First Fridays. En fælles ferniserings- og eventaften, som finder sted én gang om måneden. Første gang bliver fredag den 13. april.

Aftenen starter på FABRIKKEN, hvor du kan høre Paths Crossing-resident Katarina Šević fortælle om sin kunstneriske praksis. Kataria er fra Serbien, men bor og arbejder i Budapest.

Hendes artist talk foregår:

FIRST FRIDAYS: ARTIST TALK W. KATARINA SEVIC

First Fridays is a collaboration between the many different art spaces in Amager around openings and events.

In the first part of her lecture, Katarina Ševic PATHS CROSSING artist in residence presents a selection of her art works, - projects which explore questions of collective heritage, storytelling, and expanded notions of the past and present.

The second part of the lecture is based on her publication “We are not ducks on a pond, but ships at sea” (Independent Art Initiatives, Budapest 1989-2009) and deals with the role of the independent art space, publishing, and the influence of different political settings.

Friday, April 13th, 5-6 pm. Studio 16.


KATARINA'S STATEMENT

In my work I utilize and integrate diverse strategies of observation and communication, questioning the vehicles of design and patterns in society. I am interested in particular artifacts from the social sphere, their forms and elements, in order to question defunct symbolism and processes of the embodiment of collective knowledge and memory.
